Intent is built to keep your focus to yourself. There's no account, no analytics and no tracking, in the app or on this website.
What stays on your Mac
Your sessions, intentions, focus forms, blocklists and settings are stored only on your Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Intent and the app's preferences. Intent never uploads them. Recaps and insights are worked out on your Mac. Ask Intent, where available, uses Apple Intelligence on your Mac.
What Intent sends, and to whom
- Buying and activating a license. Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record, under their privacy policy. When you activate a license, Intent sends the license key and your Mac's name to Lemon Squeezy, and checks the key again about once a week. Nothing else is sent.
- Checking for updates. Intent occasionally downloads a small update list from our website. Like any web request, this shows our server your IP address and the app's version. We don't log it to identify you.
- Blocking websites. To block sites, Intent asks your browser for the address of the open tab, on your Mac. Those addresses never leave it.

Roadmap votes
When you vote on the roadmap, we store a one-way, salted hash of your IP address next to the feature, so each person counts once. We never store the IP address itself, and the hash can't be turned back into it. Your browser also remembers which features you voted for, in its own local storage on your device.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
