Do what you set out to do

Intent turns the notch on your Mac into a quiet focus timer. Name the one thing you're working on, and every minute it gently brings you back.

macOS 15 or later · Apple silicon and Intel

Start

One intention, not a to‑do list

Write down the single thing this session is for, pick a length, and press Return. That's the whole setup.

Blocking

Distractions, closed

Pick the sites and apps that pull you away. During a session, blocked sites turn into a calm page that reminds you what you're working on, and blocked apps hide or quit.

Works in Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Opera and Helium. No admin password, no hosts file.

Finish

End every session with one result

When time's up, a short form asks what you worked on and the one most important thing you got done. It takes ten seconds, and it's the part you'll be glad you kept.

Insights

See where your focus goes

A year of sessions at a glance: your streaks, your best hours, the length that suits you. Search every intention in History, export to CSV or Markdown, or share a card of your progress.

Small app, big calm

Light as air

About 0.2% CPU while a session runs. A blip once a minute for the pulse, and nothing in between.

Private by default

No account, no tracking. Your sessions are a file on your Mac, and they never leave it.

Made for the notch

And just as at home on a Mac without one.

Six colors

The timer, the glow and the whole app follow your pick. This page does too.

A sound that won't startle you

Turn it on and every nudge comes with a soft, low chord. Enough to bring you back, never enough to make you jump.

Your data, your way

Export every session to CSV or Markdown for your notes, spreadsheets or anything else.

A real Mac app

Native and universal, with light and dark icons and a welcome tour on first launch.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes, to start. Your first 7 days are unlimited, then you get 10 sessions a month for free, for as long as you like. A lifetime license ($4.99, once) unlocks unlimited sessions and your full recaps.

What are recaps?

Every Monday, and on the first of each month, the notch lets you know your recap is ready: how much you focused, your best day, when you focus best, the wins you wrote down and what tried hardest to distract you. Free users see the first card; the rest come with a license.

Do I need a Mac with a notch?

No. On a Mac without one, Intent's timer sits at the top centre of your screen and works the same way.

Which browsers can it block websites in?

Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, Chromium and Helium. macOS asks once per browser for permission the first time. Firefox can't be controlled this way, so its tabs aren't blocked.

What happens when I open a blocked site?

The tab becomes a calm page showing what you're focusing on, or closes entirely if you turn on auto-close. Blocked apps are hidden, or quit if you prefer.

Does Intent collect any data?

No. There's no account and no analytics. Your sessions are stored in a file on your Mac, and you can export them whenever you like.

Will it slow my Mac down?

It's built to stay out of the way: about 0.2% CPU during a session, and close to nothing when you're not in one.
